Lisvane Reservoir

Reservoir is a Victorian reservoir in North Cardiff, Wales (Welsh: Cronfa Ddr Llanisien). The reservoir, which was completed in 1886 as part of the Taff Fawr scheme for supplying water to Cardiff, is one of the reservoirs built as part of the Taff Fawr scheme for supplying water to Cardiff. It runs from the top of Roath Park to the countryside beyond Cyncoed as part of the Nant Fawr Corridor.

Until the mid-1970s, the reservoir was used for water supply.

Welsh Water bought both the Llanishen and Lisvane reservoirs from CELSA Group on a 999-year lease in January 2016, enabling Welsh Water to use both reservoirs for water supply and recreation while CELSA UK continues to draw water from the Lisvane reservoir.

Parc Tredelerch, Lamby Way, Rumney, Cardiff CF3 2HP

Parc Tredelerch is a 40,000-square-meter pike lake (four hectares). Wildlife habitats were created by landscaping and planting the surrounding property. A boardwalk across the lake is part of the park’s 2km of public paths. The mute swan, great crested grebe, coot, and mallard, as well as dragonflies and butterflies, are all species to watch out for.

Cardiff Bay fishing platforms

The Cardiff Bay fishing platforms are situated just above Penarth Road and are open to all pike anglers. On the River Ely, just above Penarth Road, there are four specially constructed angling platforms for disabled anglers too.

River Severn

The Severn River originates in Northern Wales and empties into the sea near Bristol. When it rains heavily in the Welsh mountains, the river quickly rises. This is also why the bottom of the vessel is so appealing and distinct.

On the bottom, there are large stones as well as clay chunks, fallen trees, and tree roots from surrounding trees. The current is high in many areas, and as it rises, it can be dangerous.
